Cyber Legends is a play-based ed-tech company that focuses on Cyber Safety Education. Their product strategically develops a child’s creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills while developing their familiarity with the online world so that they can be successful no matter what they do.

Cyber Legends delivers their cyber safety education through their gamified learning platform, educational resources, and digital teaching tools - all of which are brought together with a series of personality packed characters and a vibrant, futuristic world that is designed to resonate with kids from various walks of life and with different personalities.

The hero / villain dynamic is central to the brand

DJ Luna is the main hero of the story - an example of everything that can go right when you understand cyber safety and maintain strong boundaries.

Meanwhile, Lord Hacker was originally DJ Luna’s mentor and a leader in cybernetics. But after getting infected by a rogue AI, he turned to the dark side. Lord Hacker represents all that could go wrong when you don’t maintain strong binaries.

The hero / villain dynamic appears throughout the games of the Cyber Legends brand, and constantly remind kids that good and evil isn’t binary.

Cyber Skills

At the very core of the brand, there are 6 key cyber skills that cover 18 educational topics and act as the backbone to all that Cyber Legends does.

Each skill is represented by an icon and colour system that bleeds into the visual language of the brand. These skills include: cyber safe, cyber secure, cyber kind, cyber positive, cyber informed, and cyber healthy.

We believe these are the focus areas required to keep kids safe in all digital realms and that once kids absorb content from each of these areas, they’ll have a solid understanding of the dangers that exist out there.

Art Direction

One of the goals of the brand is to leave kids feeling empowered after using the product - to show them that the ability to build a better world lays in their hands.

Our “solar punk” art direction is intended to build a world that focuses on craftsmanship, community, and technology and envisions a future that’s idealistic and resolves many of the social issues plaguing our modern world.

Character Set

Characters are the central point of the Cyber Legends brand. Together, they form a system that comes together to unite our various products and make our topics digestible and relatable to kids from all over the world.

Each character has been designed and written in a way that allows each of them to play a distinct educational role. Their personalities lean into a literary archetype, and they’re accompanied by a series of props and quirks that will allow them to expand into various play patterns and use cases.

Edubytes

Edubytes are designed to help teachers level up on their own cyber safety knowledge, making teaching cyber safety feel less daunting. This product includes a series of educational videos and activities to try in class.
