Welcome to the World of Wallflower!

Wallflower is a growing illustrated world rooted in quirky characters, slow made objects, and the oddly specific moments that make us human.

True to it's name, Wallflower began as a creative studio rooted in observation and storytelling.

For years, we worked closely with founders and brands to build thoughtful identities and worlds of their own. Over time, that same love of storytelling slowly expanded inward into a growing collection of original characters and handmade items designed to feel comforting, playful, and a little quirky.

I’m Kristiana - Wallflower Studio is my creative home!

I originally started Wallflower at 19 and slowly grew it as a side hustle until I took it full time in 2020.

After years of burnout, I realized that if I was going to build a long-term creative business, I needed to slow down, reconnect with myself as a human (not just a business), and create from that place instead.

It took time to get there. I spent a lot of time doing puzzles because they helped me turn my business brain off. I journalled my way through big feelings about the world and how everything seems to demand speed. I named far too many of my dog’s toys.

I even stepped away for a while to help a client build a creative team; an experience that completely reshaped how I understand community and its importance.

Soon, I started building my own characters.

And I slowly translated them into the very objects that helped me reconnect with myself. By doing so, I slowly built a business that was rooted in the values that shape both the way I work and exist in the world.

Build Slowly

We believe sustainability includes how we work as people, not just what we make.

Stay Human

We believe showing up honestly creates deeper connection in both art and life.

Grow Together

We believe meaningful things are built through connection, collaboration, and community.

Today, the Wallflower world features a core cast of characters shaped by real-life encounters.

There’s Fran, a greyhound who developed anxiety after an unfortunate encounter with the neighbourhood turkey, Claire. There’s Sven, a bear with a passion for fashion that gets him through his toughest days. And Peter, Paul, and Perry, three peas in a pod with very different personalities and a shared love of folk music (Peter, Paul and Mary anyone?). Over time, these characters will continue to appear in greeting cards, prints, and sculptural ceramic objects like vases, planters, and trinket dishes.

I can’t wait for you to meet them all!
